employment, and residential opportunities;
- Work with, and for, our Chamber members to attain their goals,
and establish active working relationships with private and public
entities;
- Establish strategic alliances with our neighboring communities
to enhance the quality of life for all citizens in the area.

In view of today’s
business and technological climate, Elsberry provides an attractive
alternative for business operations as compared to a more urban
environment. Recent -- and on-going -- real estate developments
provide residents with a number of housing styles, in attractive
locations, and all at remarkably affordable prices
Elsberry enjoys a number of features which make it an enviable
place to live and work:
- highly rated schools,
- beautiful landscapes,
- a clean and safe environment,
- good highway and rail access,
- superb nearby recreational facilities, and
- a positive public attitude.
Thanks to the generosity of the citizens of Elsberry combined with
the proceeds from the Chamber's Annual Classics on Wheels Car Show
(years 2006--'08)...the Elsberry Chamber of Commerce is pleased
to announce that we have sent in the final order to complete the
holiday decoration collection for downtown. Kudos to everyone who
contributed of their time, talent and finance!
Eight more deluxe snowflake pole pieces are to be delivered later
this month. The collection has been gifted to the City. The men
of Alliance assist with preparing the park for the car show every
year. They are also responsible for properly storing the decorations
and displaying them for all to enjoy. We are grateful to this group
of men.
The car show is no easy task; it takes 6 months of planning; full
cooperation of MODOT, the City, our local businesses (including
the school), law enforcement agencies, our ambulance and fire districts
plus dozens of show day volunteers to make it a success. Not to
mention the efforts we have come to rely on from area show car owners!
Plans are in motion for our ninth annual show scheduled for May
2nd, 2009 in the City Park. If you have been a part of this event
in the past...your assistance was invaluable and on behalf of the
Chamber - we thank you! If you would like to help in any capacity
for 2009 simply contact Brigitte Steavenson at 898-2516 or email
bsteavenson@yahoo.com.
We intend to keep the show downtown for as long as we can; especially
now with the recent installation of the new playground equipment!
What a wonderful addition to the park.
The number of cars registered in upcoming shows will dictate whether
we can still fit downtown or if it is time to consider the Lincoln
Co. RII School Districts gracious offer to use their parking lots.
They agreed to all of our points of contention (electricity etc.)
therefore vendors will have no problems there.
We hope that everyone enjoys the Holiday decor' as much as we have
enjoyed raising the funds. "Good Old Elsberry! A great place
to visit and a wonderful place to live!"
Elsberry has nearby nature areas developed and monitored by the
Missouri Department of Natural Resources which are ideal spots for
bird
watching and other outdoor recreation.
